The silence of USDA during the government shutdown is having increasing impact on the dairy industry. Agricultural Marketing Service reports are nonexistent. Weekly prices have not been released, creating some difficulty for plants and companies trying to set prices for their products. So, market participants will be flying blind for a period of time until the government decides to adopt a budget and get back up and running again.
