Milk supply across the country is termed as tight with little extra milk available for purchase by manufacturers. It does seem that this is somewhat of a perception as milk is available to meet demand, but some manufacturers would like greater supply in order to increase manufacturing capacity. August milk production was up 2.6 percent nationwide and the first time milk production increased from July to August since my records back to 1996. Some states showed some surprising increases.
