Milk futures in closer months took a tumble as spot cheese and butter prices declined. Traders were quick to take it out on futures contracts in an effort to keep futures in line with underlying cash. This dampens the enthusiasm seen the past weeks as cash prices increased. Milk supply is termed as tight as milk is being pulled in many directions to satisfy manufacturing and bottling demand. Some manufacturing plants have reduced production times rather than pay a premium for any available milk. Milk production is expected to improve with cooler weather, but it will take some time ...
