Milk production in California is expected to take a hit as temperatures are expected to be over 100 degrees for the next week with warm temperatures remaining during the night. Cooling capacity will be challenged with cows affected by the hot weather. Other areas of the country have seen and will see bouts of hot weather as usual this summer and will realize various effects on production.
