Milk production in the top 23 states increased 0.9% for the month of May compared to the previous year. Production in the United States was up 0.8%. The states that experienced declines were: Utah, down 2.4%; Missouri, down 2.3%; Arizona, down 1.9%; New Mexico, down 1.1%; Texas, down 0.8%; California, down 0.5%; and Oregon, down 0.4%. The greatest production gain was seen in Kansas with milk production increasing 8.1%, followed by Illinois, up 5.2%.
