Lower trade in Class III futures early in the week was mostly erased by the end of the week. Traders are not heavily positioned one way or the other in the market eliminating the large price swings associated with long-liquidation or short-covering based on underlying price movement. The announcement to discontinue the monthly milk production report has received quite a bit of attention. There is quite a bit of concern from the industry as far as how to measure milk production expansion and contraction for making marketing decisions.
