Favorable weather conditions continue to support strong milk production in much of the country. Milk production in the state of California remains flat. Plants are able to handle milk receipts easily. Financial stress has had a significant impact on overall milk production in the state. This is not expected to change much in the foreseeable future. The jump in Class III futures at the end of last week has been able to hold despite barrel price eliminating the gain Friday. February through April contracts were able to hold above $17.
