GENERAL COMMENTS

Firm support is developing in lean hog futures early Tuesday morning as traders once again focus on tighter short term supplies of hogs available to the market. Cattle contracts are under pressure following firming gains in grain markets, and lack of support in overall beef values early in the week. Corn futures are trading higher in early electronic trade. Stock markets are trading higher in light trade Dow Jones is trading 94 points higher while Nasdaq is 30 points higher.
