GENERAL COMMENTS:

The early tone in the cash hog trade is mixed with bids ranging from 0.50 higher to 0.50 lower. Yet it sounds like most efforts are about steady with Thursday. Cattle country is slow in the early rounds with some bids noted in the North from $207-208 (majors) to $210 (regionals). Asking prices are around $132-$133 in the South and $210-$212 in the North. We expect to see significant trade volume develop sometime between late morning and early afternoon. Corn futures 1-2 cents higher, supported by better than expected weekly export sales.
