GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are expected to open mixed in a narrow trading range Friday. End-of-week positioning is taking place in cattle futures which is drawing light support to live cattle, yet moderate pressure into feeder cattle trade. Lean hog futures are reacting to recent market pressure with mixed trade in a narrow range. Focus on the hogs and pigs report released later Friday afternoon is keeping traders interest. Corn futures are trading lower in early trade. The stock market is trading lower. The Dow Jones Index is 65 points lower while Nasdaq is down 20 points.
