GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed in light trade Thursday. Gains in lean hog futures are being offset by pressure in live cattle futures. Corn futures are trading lower in early trade. The stock market is trading higher. The Dow Jones Index is 47 points higher while Nasdaq is up 11 points.

LIVE CATTLE:

Opening call: Steady to 10 cents lower. Activity in live cattle futures is expected to be extremely sluggish through most of the morning. Narrow losses are developing due to pressure in grain markets. Traders are starting to focus on the pullback in long-term supply. But nearby ...
