GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are called to trade mixed to slightly lower in light trade. Corn futures are trading lower in early trade. The stock market is trading lower. The Dow Jones Index is 33 points lower while Nasdaq is down 25 points.

LIVE CATTLE:

Opening call: Steady to 20 cents lower. Very little activity is expected to develop through the live cattle market early Monday. The focus on additional pressure in the corn market could limit any widespread pressure, but there remain concerns about the potential strength in the cash market through the week.
