GENERAL COMMENTS:

Though cattle buyers haven't done an ounce of work all week, their hands remain pocketed with indifference this morning. But procurement attitudes should change sometime between late morning and mid afternoon as they finally move to cover short-term slaughter needs. Opening bids are expected to be restatements of $117 in the South and $190-191 in the North. Asking bids are firm at $122 in the South and $195-196 in the North.
