OMAHA (DTN) -- Light gains have slowly redeveloped across the live cattle futures market early Monday. This firmness is helping to draw more focus on the support in cash cattle prices last week and is causing some optimism that additional fundamental support could be seen through the end of the month. Lean hog futures are mixed in a narrow range. Although hog prices are finding a hard time setting a direction Monday, the stability in the complex is encouraging given the sharp late week losses seen on Friday.
