GENERAL COMMENTS:

The cash cattle trade remained slow Friday despite a general lack of business through the week. Some live sales in Texas were reported at $145, $1 lower than last week. On the other hand, scattered dressed sales in the North ranged from $234 to $236, steady-weak with last week's weighted average basis Nebraska. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is $3.60 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($105.00-$116.00, weighted average $111.88).
