GENERAL COMMENTS:

Light to moderate cattle trading developed at midweek with some producers responding to sharply higher packer bids. Light to moderate trade developed in parts of the South at $142, $3 higher than last week. Light to moderate dressed business surfaced in parts of the North at $125 to $127, $4 to $6 higher than last week. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $0.04 lower ($74.00 to $81.00, weighted average $78.63).
