Activity in feedlot country was limited to the collection of new showlists. The mid-January offering appears to be generally smaller than last week. Some ready steers and heifers were priced around $141-$142 in the South and $225-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $0.90 higher ($65.00 to $78.80, weighted average $78.13).
