GENERAL COMMENTS:

Light to moderate cattle trade developed in the afternoon as packers once again moved toward higher asking prices. Live business in the South was mostly $2 higher at $139. On the other hand, dressed sales in the North ranged from $220 to $222, $3 to $5 higher than last week's weighted average basis Nebraska. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $2.17 lower ($66.00 to $78.74, weighted average $76.08).
