GENERAL COMMENTS:

The cash cattle trade was not tested Thursday with just a few scattered bids noted in both the North and South. Asking prices remain firm at $132 to $133 in the South and $210 to $212 in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base was $2.21 higher with a range of $65.00 to $79.50, weighted average $76.54. Corn futures closed moderately lower, down 8 1/4 in March and May, down 8 in July.
