GENERAL COMMENTS:

Feedlot country was extremely quiet with packer bids essentially missing in action. Some showlists were priced around $134 in the South and $210-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $1.82 lower ($73.00 to $82.50, weighted average $79.94). The corn market lost another 1 to 1 ½ cents, pressured by ideas that Friday's production report will set the harvest bar well over 14 billion bushels.
