GENERAL COMMENTS:

A quiet day of cattle trade with just a few clean-up deals reported in the North from $205 to $208. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed at $85.73 (weighted average), $1.02 lower; the full price range was $76.00 to $87.50. Corn futures closed modestly lower, down 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 cents.
