Note impact of government shutdown: USDA's Market News has been indefinitely closed due to a lack of government funding. Hence, most of the price data usually posted on this page in not available (NA). The cash cattle trade was very quiet with just a few preliminary bids of $123 reported in parts of the South. Some feedlots suggested early asking prices around $128-$129 in the South and $203-$205 in the North. The closing Iowa hog base is not available.
