GENERAL COMMENTS:

Besides a few bids noted in parts of the South at $121, the cash cattle trade was essentially missing in action. Preliminary asking prices were around $125 to $126 in the South and $198-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed $1.08 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement $73.50 to $92.00, weighted average $90.38).
