DTN Closing Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed 0.53 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement $76.00-$89.00, weighted average $87.70). Corn futures were mostly lower, with the December down 5 1/2 and March down 5 1/4. Spot September was up 4 1/2.

LIVE CATTLE:

Futures closed higher, up 15 to 37. Live cattle futures held moderate strength through most of the trading session.
