GENERAL COMMENTS:

Light trading surfaced in parts of Kansas with live business marked steady with last week (i.e., $119). Elsewhere the cash market remained at a standstill with both sides content to delay work until Thursday or Friday. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed 0.61 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement $88.00-$102.00, (weighted average $98.67). The corn board continued to slump lower in the face of near-perfect pollination prospects and rising yield estimates.
