The supply of ready cattle in mid-July appears to be smaller than the previous week, especially in Texas and Nebraska. Preliminary asking prices are around $122 in the South and $196-plus in the North. Corn futures closed lower again, down 5 3/4 in the Dec and March and down 9 1/4 in the September.
