GENERAL COMMENTS:

According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed .30 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($85.50-$102.00, weighted average $99.97). As expected, the cash cattle trade remained dormant with bids and asking prices poorly defined. A light scattering of bids was reported in parts of Kansas at $115-$116. Some showlists were priced at $121-$122 in the South and $196- to $197-plus in the North.
