DTN Closing Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed $0.33 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($68.00-$82.00, weighted average $79.93). Corn futures closed lower again, down 7 to 13 cents.

LIVE CATTLE:

Futures closed higher, steady to up 40. Light gains developed in the live cattle futures market with nearby contracts trading steady to 25 cents per cwt higher. October futures led the market higher, closing 40 cents per cwt higher as traders focused on demand growth potential.
