DTN Closing Livestock Comments

According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed .25 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($70.00-$80.00, weighted average $78.03). Corn futures closed higher, up 3 1/4 to 7 1/2.


Futures closed mostly lower, down 7 to 45. Spot April closed up 15. April live cattle futures bounced higher in late-day trade. The entire live cattle complex remained contained in a narrow to moderate trading range through most of the session.
