GENERAL COMMENTS:

The cash cattle trade was limited to the distribution of new showlists. Ready numbers are mixed, larger in Texas and Nebraska, smaller in Kansas and Colorado. Overall, the fed offering appears to be larger. A few preliminary asking prices were around $129-$130 in the South and $205 in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed 0.31 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($66.00-$81.50, weighted average $79.21).
