GENERAL COMMENTS:

Moderate cash trade developed in Nebraska and Iowa Friday at prices $2 to $3 lower than the bulk of last week's trade. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed 2.65 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($75.00-$82.50, weighted average $79.32). Corn futures close higher, up 7 1/4 in May, up 7 3/4 in July and up 10 in September.
