GENERAL COMMENTS:

The cash cattle market is at a standstill Tuesday. Showlists are priced about $127 to $128 in the South, but no bids have surfaced. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed $1.43 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($59.00-$77.00, weighted average $74.52). Corn futures settled generally 3 cents lower in slow trade as markets wait for Thursday's USDA report numbers.
