CHARLESTON, S.C. (DTN) -- Powerful megatrends will drive dramatic social, political and economic changes across the globe in the next few decades and it's up to U.S. agriculture to make the most of the opportunities while minimizing the dangers, leaders of the U.S. Grains Council told attendees at their annual membership conference earlier this week.

Dr. Erick Erickson, USCG director of global strategies, said agriculture needs to think like hockey legend Wayne Gretzky: "A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be."
