China Nixes Corn; DDG Next

DAVENPORT, Neb. (DTN) -- China has already rejected as many as 10 shiploads of U.S. corn because it contains a genetically-modified variety that is not yet approved in that country. It is likely that rejection of U.S. dried distillers grains is next, according to an export trader.

The shipments contained corn from an unapproved variety, MIR162, more commonly known as Agrisure Viptera by Syngenta Ag.

According to Jason Charles, domestic export trader for Land O'Lakes Purina Feed LLC, China has so far rejected five vessels of corn, some of which was rerouted to South Korea.
