Spring wheat futures ended 4 1/4 to 5 1/4 higher, corn closed 2 1/4 to 3 1/4 higher, soybeans closed 1 to 2 1/4 cents higher (old crop) and 1 1/4 cents lower to 2 1/4 higher (new crop) while canola closed 60 cents to $1.20/mt higher.


In mid-day trade, the TSX equity market was 61 points lower at 13,533, with pressure on energy stocks. Disappointing data from China also weighed on Canada's heavily weighted resource stocks.
