MARKET SUMMARY

Soybeans closed 18 1/2 to 28 3/4 cents lower, canola finished $4.50 to $4.80/mt lower, corn ended 8 1/2 to 9 1/4 cents lower, and red spring wheat closed 8 to 8 3/4 cents lower.

OUTSIDE MARKETS

The TSX equity index was trading flat in midday trade, down 11 points at 13,388, despite small gains in U.S. markets. The Canadian dollar was 5 basis points higher at $.9561 CAD/USD, while the U.S. dollar index was .124 higher at 79.370.
