MARKET SUMMARY

MGEX HRS closed 6 1/4 to 7 3/4 cents lower, corn closed 1/2 to 1 1/4 cents lower, soybeans closed 4 3/4 to 9 1/2 cents higher while canola closed $6.30 to $7.10/mt higher.

OUTSIDE MARKETS

In midday trade, the TSX is up 12 points at 12,943 despite a current 173-point gain in the Dow. It appears that the U.S. debt default may be avoided with a deal struck and a vote to take place as early as Wednesday afternoon.
