OUTSIDE MARKETS

The Canadian TSX equity market is currently up 18.81 points at 12,834.72, while the Dow Jones is up 58 points. The Canadian dollar is up 40 basis points, currently at $.9965 CAD/US dollars, while the U.S. dollar is .258 lower at 79.610. The U.S. released their index of consumer confidence at 58.6, the weakest response since November 2011 and well below expectations. The December reading was at 66.7. Gold is $10.10 higher at $1,663.30/ounce. Crude oil is $1.04 higher at $97.48/barrel, while Brent crude is $.75 higher at $114.22/barrel.
