Toronto's TSX equity market is trading flat, up 2.10 points at 12,825.72. Canada's annual inflation rate was announced at 0.8% for December, unchanged from November and at three-year lows. This is far below the Bank of Canada's 2% inflation target, while reducing the nearby risk of interest rate hikes in Canada. U.S. new home sales dipped in December, but 2012 remains the highest level since 2009. The Canadian dollar is 44 basis points lower at $.9914 CAD/U.S. dollars.
