OUTSIDE MARKETS

Toronto's TSX is trading 67.27 higher at 12,676.09. Positive U.S. economic data was behind the move, with both positive unemployment and new-home construction data being announced this morning. The Canadian dollar is up 9 basis points at $1.0137 CAD/US dollar. The U.S. dollar is .134 lower at 79.720. Gold is $5.70 higher at $1,688.90/ounce. Crude oil is $1.13/barrel higher at $95.37/barrel. Brent crude is $1.41 per barrel higher at $111.09/barrel. Positive reports from the U.S. buoyed energy markets today, with hopes that a recovery is around the corner.
