I always get a little chuckle over the hubbub surrounding the May USDA report, with its "initial" look at new-crop production and supply and demand. In general we seem to have the capacity for short-term memory only, probably a good thing when it comes to the shifting sands of market sentiment, as we block out of our minds the three rounds of new-crop estimates we've already seen.
