COMMENTS:

The cash markets were lower Monday except for corn which closed higher after the futures were up for the day, hence a lower basis. The markets will no doubt have a quiet trading week ahead of the USDA Perspective Planting and Grain Stocks report on Thursday. The market expects USDA to confirm the tight stocks of corn in the U.S., but concern is mounting that the drawn out winter in the Midwest may delay corn plantings.
