The cash prices for soybeans were higher Wednesday after concern over dry weather in Argentina and possible shipping delays of new-crop soybeans in Brazilian ports. This news caused the soybean futures market to hit a six-week high, but the sharp rise in futures caused the basis to drop 2 cents. The cash corn price was higher due to the strength in corn futures on the same weather concern in Argentina, which may lower corn and soybean yields and had little effect on the corn basis which was higher on Wednesday.
