Asian markets closed mixed on Thursday, with the Nikkei in Japan up 1% and the Shanghai Composite in China down 0.8%. European markets are trading lower. The TSX closed at 14,184, down 115 points in Wednesday's trade, while overnight, Dow futures are 6 higher and may point to a steady open in North American equity trade.
