Outside Markets

Asian markets closed mostly lower Tuesday, with the Nikkei in Japan closing .1% higher. European markets are mostly lower in what is now afternoon trade. Friday's close for the TSX was 12,613.05. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 19.12 points Monday, while overnight trade has seen the Dow futures down 1 single point, which may lead to weakness at the market open. The Canadian dollar is 48 basis points lower at $.9724 CAD/U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar is .403 higher at 84.245. Gold is $8.80/ounce lower at $1,375.30/ounce.
