Outside Markets

Asian markets closed mostly higher Friday. Japan's Nikkei closed .7% higher at 15,138.12. European markets are mostly higher. The TSX closed 33.95 points higher on Thursday, leaving the index at 12,507.6 points. Dow futures are 36 points higher overnight, which should lead to a firm open in North American markets. The Canadian dollar is 77 basis points lower at $.9750 CAD/U.S. dollar, while the U.S. dollar itself is .343 higher at 84.065. Gold is $10 lower at $1,376.90/ounce. Crude oil is 43 cents higher at $95.88/barrel, while the Brent crude future is 73 cents higher at $104.51/barrel. Soybeans ...
