Outside Markets

Asian markets are mostly higher on Wednesday. Japan's Nikkei closed 1.2% higher at 13,328.89. European stocks opened steady on Wednesday. The TSX closed 115.04 higher Tuesday, ending the session at 12,119.92. Dow futures are 85 points lower overnight, which indicates a weak start in Wednesday's North American equities. The Canadian dollar is 32 basis points lower at $.9745 CAD/U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar rallied .402 points overnight, currently at 82.285. Gold is $10.40 lower at $1,377/ounce.
