Outside Markets

Asian markets closed mostly lower on Friday and equity markets in Europe were down in early trade. Japan's Nikkei closed 2.4% lower at 12,338.53. Markets remain focused on Monday's vote in the EU surrounding the Cyprus financial collapse. The S&P/TSX closed 78.68 points lower at 12,747.87. The Canadian dollar is 8 basis points lower at $.9738 CAD/U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar is .155 lower at 82.750. Gold is $2.50 lower at $1,611.30/ounce.
