Outside Markets

Asian markets are slightly higher in Thursday's trade. Japan's Nikkei closed .5% higher at 11,307.28. European markets also climbed Thursday. Canada's TSX closed at 12,775.28, down 13.74 points in Wednesday's trade. Overnight Dow futures are 62 points lower, which should result in a weak open in North American markets Thursday. The Canadian dollar is unchanged at $.9974, while the U.S. dollar is .453 higher at 80.605, which is below its overnight highs of 80.710. Gold is $2.60/ounce higher at $1,647.70/ounce.
