Asian equities were mostly higher in Friday's trade, on positive data from China. China's inflation rate fell to 2% while exports increased substantially, suggesting a recovery in that economy. Japan's Nikkei closed down 1.8%. European markets are trading higher. Canada's TSX equity market lost 5.67 points to 12,755.92. Dow futures fell 13 points overnight, indicating a soft open in Friday's North American markets. The Canadian dollar is 3 basis points higher to $1.0014 CAD/U.S. dollar.
